About Me
Hello! My name is Ethan Marks, and I love to learn, especially about the brain! I currently work in the Roberts Lab at UT Southwestern, where I use zebra finches as a model to study vocal and motor learning. Currently, my project examines how various brain regions contribute to language acquisition during development. I utilize a handful of techniques, from optogenetics to patch-clamp electrophysiology to various viral methods, and I am eager to continue my pursuit in understanding how our brains learn and remember as a graduate student. I'm currently applying this fall! If you're looking for a neuroscience graduate student to join your lab in Fall 2025, or just want to share the cool research you're doing, let me know! You can email me at ethan@marks1.com, and I'll be happy to chat about anything and everything about neuroscience!
